Select how you want the item assessed. This determines which specialists are available to you and what they charge. Five options are available — from a quick remote review to a full in-person call out.

Each verifier sets their own turnaround time, displayed on their profile when you select them.

Pick a specialist & agree the fee

You’re shown a list of approved specialists in your item’s category, filtered by your chosen verification type. Each profile shows their fee, turnaround time, and credentials.

You pay for verification when you book it — it is a standalone service, not part of a sale. The specialist is paid when they submit their report (for shipped items, once your item’s safe return is confirmed), never waiting on a sale that may never come. If they can’t take the job, you are refunded in full, automatically. Selling is separate: a sale costs 5% commission plus Stripe fees, and nothing else.

Verification & certificate issued

The specialist examines your item according to the agreed method. If it passes, a digital Certificate of Authenticity is issued and permanently attached to the item on the platform.

If it doesn’t pass, the item is returned. It will never be listed.

Listed & sold securely

Your verified item goes live with the CoA visible to every buyer. When it sells, payment is held in escrow until delivery is confirmed. Cardarooz takes a 5% commission on the sale price only. The CoA transfers to the new owner automatically.

The 20% platform fee applies only to the verification cost. The 5% commission applies only to the final sale price. The digital CoA travels with the item forever

Every verified item carries a unique digital certificate. It records who verified it, how, and when. It’s publicly scannable and permanently attached — if the item is ever resold, the CoA transfers to the new owner, building a verified ownership chain over time.

How long does verification take?
It depends on the specialist you choose and the verification type. Each verifier publishes their current turnaround time on their profile. Remote views and provenance checks are typically faster than shipping or in-person methods. You’ll see the estimated time before you confirm.
How much does verification cost?
Each specialist sets their own fee, which varies by verification type and item category. Cardarooz adds 20% on top of the verifier’s fee (10% for Pro Seller subscribers). You pay the total when you book, and it is shown to the penny before you confirm. The specialist is paid when they submit their report (for shipped items, once your item’s safe return is confirmed). If they decline or can’t take the job, you are refunded in full, automatically. Verification is completely separate from selling — you never need to sell an item to get it verified, and a sale is only ever charged 5% commission plus Stripe fees.
What does Cardarooz charge on the sale?
The marketplace commission is 5% of the final sale price. Your payout shows the full breakdown — the 5% commission, the verification cost you agreed with your specialist, and payment processing — with nothing hidden. Buyers pay only the item price plus shipping.
Who are the verifiers?
Independent specialists approved by Cardarooz. They have backgrounds in sports memorabilia authentication, auction houses, and category-specific collecting. Each covers specific specialisms — football, combat sports, motorsport, music, and more. You choose who you trust with your item.
What if my item fails verification?
It is returned to you. We never list items that don’t pass. The specialist will provide a clear explanation of their findings. The verification fee is still payable — the specialist has done the work regardless of outcome.
Can I get something verified without selling it?
Yes. You can request verification on any item you own through your account at any time, whether or not you intend to list it for sale. The same fee structure applies.
Can I become a verifier on Cardarooz?
Yes — if you have expertise in sports or entertainment memorabilia authentication, you can apply to join the verifier network. You set your own fees and turnaround times. Applications are reviewed by the Cardarooz team.
